9. Sushi Making Secrets!

Sushi is one of the most delicious foods you can eat anywhere. Most of the time it is usually enjoyed in great Japanese restaurants.

But sometimes people want to make great sushi for the home. I should know. I own a Sushi Restaurant Murrieta and get asked all the time by my customers. They always want to know what is the secret to making great tasting sushi at home?

I always kid around and tell them it is impossible and they will have to always come to my restaurant. But seriously, if you are looking for great pieces of advice for great sushi you can make at home, pay attention.

First thing is to make sure to have fun. Remember, you are not trying to make this for a Sushi restaurant Menifee full of people. You most likely are just making it for friends.

Remember great tasting food doesn’t have too look great. So relax, remember you are going to go through a learning curve.

For the rice, remember it has to be sticky. So if you prefer not to have sticky rice all over, make sure you wash your hands a lot.

Another great piece of advice is don’t try to make the world’s largest sushi.Yes all the ingredients taste wonderful. But when you try and put too much ingredients into one roll it will be a disaster. You are going to have non rolling rolls. You are going to have all the ingredients spilling all over the place because it is overstuffed.

Just don’t do it.

Fourth piece of advice, be gentle. Resist the urge to use a lot of force. When you are making the Sushi all it takes is a gentle rolling. If you apply to much force and pressure with your hands and fingers the roll will turn out funny or an odd shape.

Final piece of advice is regarding knives. Obviously when making sushi, you will need small parts of fish. Well if you don’t want the fish to tear, moisten the knife. This gives you the ability to cut into it with the knife evenly. You will have nicer cuts of fish that you can put into the sushi roll.
